When not surfing, playing guitar and golf are two of my favorite ways to pass time. Every September I host the charity golf challenge called the “Rob Machado Experience” at Lomas Santa Fe in Solana Beach, CA. The tournament benefits my foundation which was created to support the efforts of various Southern California non-profits whose work I admire. To date we’ve donated close to $30,000 to charity.
Initially created to support music educational programs I changed the mission to focus on environmental issues. As a surfer I’ve always respected the beauty and power of the ocean. As a Dad I feel the responsibility to play my part in the preserving of our environment as a whole. Knowing that as my daughters grow they will inherit this world I want to know I played my part in a positive way.

OUR MISSION The Rob Machado Foundation is a 501c(3) non-profit organization created to support various charities dedicated to environmental programs within Southern California. We aim to provide funding and initiate programs focused on helping children understand their contribution towards a healthy earth.
